Four Academic Programs at the Mitchell School of EngineeringMitchell SOE Programs

The School of Engineering has 4 ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Industrial Engineering,
and Transportation Systems Engineering and Transportation Systems. 
We also offer programs at the Master’s and Doctoral levels.

The MSOE has the only Transportation program among the HBCUs, we house the only Industrial Engineering program in the State of Maryland, and now have a *NEW* Mechatronics Engineering program starting Fall 2021.

Our faculty are also engaged researchers with interest and expertise in areas like smart cities and adaptive structures, data analytics, cyber-security, advanced materials, communications, transportation and hydrology.

The Mitchell School of Engineering boasts the Student Work Experience Program (SWEP) which is dedicated to enhancing our undergraduate students' career-readiness and providing them with career experiences from internships to full-time positions with companies such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Whiting-Turner, Maryland Department of Transportation. There are also opportunities for students to become undergraduate researchers if graduate education is in their futures.

According to the US News and World reports, Morgan is ranked #15 among HBCUs and #185 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs. US News and World Report, “Morgan State University Overall Rankings | US News Best Colleges.” [Online].
